I record, mix and master music for bands and artists in Camden, Arkansas. Everything runs through a real SSL and Neve console before it reaches a computer. I also make the press kit, photos and release plan that help people actually hear it.

    Packages cover tracking, mixing and mastering together. Past the included hours, tracking is $50/hr. Just need one piece? It’s billed hourly or per song, as listed under What I do.

      Tracking, mixing and mastering together get package pricing: $500 a song, $450 at 5 or more songs, $400 at 8 or more, with 6 tracking hours per song included. Otherwise tracking is billed by the hour, for hours actually used.

      No shared-drive chaos or “which version is final?” Every project gets a private page where you can listen to each mix, leave notes at the exact second, and approve songs one at a time.

        A deposit holds your dates. You get your project page link the same day.

        Make it

        Track, then mix. Each new version shows up on your page. Tap the waveform to leave notes like “vocal up at 1:42.”

        Approve each song. You get masters, stems and press kit on one page, plus help with the release if you want it.

      The fine print,
      in plain English

      These are the things most studios make you ask about.

      Who owns the recordings?
      You do. Your songs and your masters. I don’t take points, royalties or publishing.
      How many revisions?
      Two rounds per mix are included. After that, extra rounds are billed at the hourly rate, and I’ll tell you before we get there.
      How long does it take?
      First mix within 10 days of final tracks. Master within 15 days of approving the mix. Need it sooner? Priority turnaround is $100 a song for a first mix in 5 days and a master in 7. If a date slips, your project page says so and explains why.
      Do I get stems and session files?
      Yes, always, at no extra charge. Take them anywhere.
      When do I pay?
      A deposit holds your dates. The rest is due before final masters are delivered. No surprise fees.
      What if I don’t like the mix?
      That’s what revisions are for. It’s also why the single exists: try one song before you commit to a record.
      How fast will you reply?
      Within one day. You’ll talk to me, Paul, not an assistant or an inbox bot.
      Can you mix tracks recorded somewhere else?
      Yes, and it’s about half the work that comes in. Here’s how to send them.
      How to prep your files for mixing6 steps
      1. Export every track as a WAV at the session’s sample rate (24-bit, 44.1 or 48 kHz). No MP3s.
      2. Start every file at the same point, bar 1, even if the part comes in later. That way everything lines up when I drop it in.
      3. Turn off effects you’re not in love with. If a sound depends on an effect (an amp sim or a special delay), send both a dry and a wet version.
      4. Name tracks plainly, like Kick In, Vox Lead, Gtr L. Include the song’s BPM in the folder name.
      5. Include your rough mix and one or two reference songs you’d like it to feel like.
      6. Zip it and send a link (Dropbox, Google Drive or WeTransfer) with your inquiry.

      The room

      I built this studio from nothing, one piece of gear at a time. Two SSL BiG SiX consoles sum every mix. A Rupert Neve Shelford and a Heritage 73 handle the front end. An 8-track Tascam reel-to-reel is there when a song wants tape.

      Logic Pro is only for editing and delivery. The sound comes from the hardware, not plugins imitating it.
